Poroshenko to run for second term of presidency

Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko has announced that he will run for the second term in presidential elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.

As reported by Censor.NET, he made the announcement in his speech at the forum entitled "From Kruty to Brussels. We Follow Our Own Path" in Kyiv on Tuesday.

"The feeling of responsibility for the country, fellow men, older and younger generations of Ukrainians has prompted my decision to run for Ukraine presidency once again.

"I ask the voters for a mandate to ensure the irreversibility of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, our independence. To restore the territorial integrity of the country and bring peace to Ukraine. I will accomplish the construction of strong Ukrainian state," said Poroshenko.

"Finishing the five-year term, I run for president again to preserve the strategic course towards the European Union and NATO, towards turning Ukraine into a big successful country of happy people," the president emphasized.
