Ukraine celebrates Volunteer Fighter Day

March 14, Ukraine celebrates Volunteer Fighter Day for the third year in a row.

The Volunteer Fighter Day was established by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of January 17, 2017, in order to honor the courage and heroism of the defenders of independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as to promote the further strengthening of the patriotic spirit in society.

March 14, 2014, the first volunteers went to a training base in Novi Petrivtsi, near Kyiv, and then to Donbas. It allowed to carry out mobilization and to prepare a professional replacement.
