Number of Refugees in Ukraine Totaled 1,000,000 People - UN

Due to the conflict on the east of Ukraine, the number of displaced persons reached 1,000,000 people. This was announced by the Assistant Secretary-General and interim for Political Affairs Jens Anders Toyberg-Frandzen, Censor.NET reports citing zn.ua.

"Nearly 1 million people are now displaced by the conflict, both within Ukraine and to neighboring countries," he said.

He noted that UN humanitarian agencies continue to scale up their presence to respond to the growing needs.

According to him, the UN will organize a comprehensive program on evaluation and necessity of renewal of infrastructure in the regions affected by the conflict in east of Ukraine.
