JFO commander, Lieutenant-General Serhii Naev congratulated the infantry soldiers on the Day of the infantry of Ukraine.

He also thanked the infantry soldiers for their conscientious military service: "I am convinced that you will continue to successfully carry out combat missions to protect the Ukrainian people, and this day will be a celebration for us of real patriots and military professionals."

"I wish you good health, professional growth, well-being and a happy return to your families and home!", Added Naev.

The holiday was established by decree of the President of Ukraine dated April 19, 2019, in order to honor the courage and heroism of the soldiers of mechanized, motorized infantry, mountain and assault military units and units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, identified in the struggle for freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and also the creation of modern military traditions.

Last year Poroshenko introduced the Day of the border guard, which is celebrated on April 30. In addition, in November, Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Day was introduced, which is celebrated on November 22.
