Poroshenko dismisses National Guard commander Allerov

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has dismissed Commander of Ukraine´s National Guard Yurii Allerov.

This is stipulated in relevant decree No.196 as of May 7, 2019. President Poroshenko has also signed another decree to appoint Mykola Balan as Acting Commander of the National Guard.
According to Article 7 of the Law "On the National Guard of Ukraine," the National Guard Commander is appointed and dismissed by the President of Ukraine on the recommendation of the Interior Minister.
In 2010, Mykola Balan was the head of the Crimean territorial command of internal troops of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. In 2014, he was appointed deputy commander of the National Guard and was awarded the rank of Lieutenant General.
