SBU Prevented Ukrainian Warplane Hijacking by Russian Security Service

Security Service of Ukraine foiled the Russian security service attempt to hijack the Ukrainian military aircraft from Mykolaiv.
SBU spokesperson Olena Hitlianska said at the briefing, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.
According to her, the operation was planned by the Russian security service.
"The SBU counterintelligence agency foiled the Russian Federation military intelligence attempt to discredit our state and its armed forces by hijacking the Ukrainian warplane to Russia," she said.
According to Hitlianska, the Russian secret service planned to engage the Ukrainian Air Forces serviceman for this.
She said that the Russian military intelligence agent originally from Mykolaiv was in charge of the operation. He was recruited in Sevastopol in July.
The hijacking was to be conducted from the Kulbakine airport.The recruited serviceman was detained Nov. 24. The criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 1 of the Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason).
