Former prisoners recruited by the "Wagner" PMC from Ukrainian captivity told journalists that they were going to "fight with Polish mercenaries" in Ukraine.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to CNN.

The TV channel reports that two "Wagners" were captured at the end of last year. One of them had previously served a 20-year sentence for involuntary manslaughter.

"There were 90 of us. Sixty people died in the first assault, they were killed by mortar fire. Several people were wounded," the occupier recalls his first assault in the Belogorivka district of the Luhansk region.

According to him, if one group fails, "they immediately send the second, and then the third.

The second says that he participated in the assault near Lysychansk, which lasted five days, allegedly "the first steps through the forest were difficult because of the mines laid there, seven of the ten boys died immediately."

They told journalists about a man who was afraid to go on an assault. He was taken 50 meters from the base and forced to dig his own grave, then shot.

According to them, they had so little idea of what was happening in Ukraine that they thought that the Ukrainian army had left the country: "We thought that we would fight with Poles and various mercenaries, Germans, we did not think that there was anyone from Ukraine left there army - we thought they had left the country."

The occupier also stated that "no one thought that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would really fight for their country, for their loved ones," and they allegedly learned about it only on the territory of Ukraine.
