It is possible to get to Bakhmut after receiving the appropriate permission.

Colonel Serhii Cherevaty, the spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the telethon, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, journalists and volunteers can enter the city after receiving accreditation or permission from the RMA and the Ministry of Defense.

"Access is not closed there, as some have said, but a more secure mode of access has just been introduced. Everything is detailed on the website of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, there is an opportunity to register. People work 24/7 to get those who need it to Bakhmut. And those who don't need it didn't get there," he said.

"Given the importance of this settlement for the enemy, accordingly, we carry out certain maneuvers with our forces and means, which do not require great openness. Therefore, it is possible to get there to whoever needs it," Cherevaty added.

He noted that about 5,000 residents currently remain in Bakhmut.
