Swiss President Berset supports ban on arms transfer to Ukraine

Swiss President Alain Berset supported the controversial ban on the transfer of Swiss weapons to Ukraine.

This is stated by Censor.NЕТ with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

"Swiss weapons should not be used in wars," Berce said.

According to The Guardian, Switzerland, which is not a member of the European Union, followed the bloc's lead in sanctions against Moscow, but it is now showing less flexibility in its military neutrality.

Despite pressure from Kyiv and its allies, Switzerland continues to block countries that own Swiss-made weapons from re-exporting them to Ukraine.

To date, requests from Germany, Spain and Denmark have been rejected under the Military Equipment Act, which prohibits any re-export if the recipient country is in an international armed conflict. Berset said the policy is based on "a commitment to peace, humanitarian law, mediation wherever possible."
