We must be ready to guarantee support to Ukraine for long time, - Scholz
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expects that Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine will continue until Putin realizes that he cannot annex a large part of Ukrainian territory.
"We must be ready to guarantee support for a long time," Scholz said at a meeting with citizens in his constituency in Potsdam, Censor.NET reports with reference to "European Truth".
"The only basis for everything is Russia's realization that it cannot simply annex a large part of Ukrainian territory, as it is trying to do now," the chancellor said.
When this realization comes, only then will it be possible to settle the military situation, he said.
"But this step is not yet on the Russian president's time," Sholtz believes.
"The price of blood that Putin imposes on his country, on his young people for his imperialist dream is truly terrible," he added.
