During the first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Commission since 2017 at the level of foreign ministers, both the issue of supporting Ukraine in the war waged against it by the Russian Federation and the multi-year plan for further cooperation aimed at bringing Kyiv closer to the Alliance will be discussed.

As Censor.NET informs with reference to Interfax-Ukraine, this was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"NATO foreign ministers are meeting at a key moment for our security. We see that Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine continues. We will meet in the format of the Ukraine-NATO Commission with Foreign Minister Kuleba, where we will discuss how to continue to support Ukraine in terms of its immediate needs, but also I expect that the Allies will begin to work on a long-term, multi-year program to continue to help and support Ukraine so that to help them develop interoperability with allies, to move away from Soviet-era standards to NATO standards, to become closer to the Euro-Atlantic family," he said.

In addition, the Allies intend to discuss a broad issue in the field of existing security challenges, including the Middle East and Africa, the fight against terrorism.

NATO ministers will also meet with partners from New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
