Damages from war crimes of Russian Federation against environment of Luhansk region amount to more than 475 billion hryvnias, - RMA

Based on the data obtained by the State Environmental Inspection in Luhansk region, since the beginning of hostilities, the occupiers have partially destroyed the forest fund of Luhansk region on an area of more than 26,000 hectares. The total amount of damage from this is more than 180 billion hryvnias.

This was reported in Luhansk RMA, Censor.NET informs.

"As a result of the fires, the territory of the nature reserve fund was damaged. Namely: the National Nature Park "Kreminski lisy", the hydrological reserve of local importance "Kreminski Kaptazhi" and part of the Luhansk Nature Reserve "Tryokhizbensky Steppe".

Due to the use by the occupiers of heavy weapons and phosphorus munitions prohibited by the Geneva Convention, as well as heavy flamethrower systems "Solntsepek", infrastructure, industry and life support facilities were damaged, as a result of which land plots were littered with the remains of ammunition, equipment and structures, as well as due to fires objects, there was an emission of pollutants into the atmospheric air," the message reads.

It is noted that to date, the inspection has recorded 45 crimes against the environment of the Luhansk region by the troops of the Russian Federation, according to which losses in the amount of 475,112,573,537 hryvnias have been calculated. Buildings and territories of energy facilities, shopping and entertainment centers, markets, educational institutions, and industrial facilities were affected.

"Due to constant shelling, the land fund of Luhansk Oblast suffers the most, as an example, due to the destruction by the occupiers of the 500 kV Kreminska electric substation with measures of the 500 kV Donbaska-Donska and 220 kV Kreminska-Yuvileyna substations, the damage caused due to the blockage amounts to more than one and a half billion hryvnias. And due to the destruction of the buildings and equipment of PJSC Severodonetsk Azot, such damage has already reached more than 253 billion hryvnias," RMA noted.
