Grain imports from Ukraine to Poland will be temporarily suspended at least until July.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Poland Janusz Kowalski announced this on TVP Info, Censor.NET informs.

"The European Union has done nothing to help Polish farmers, and the effectiveness of the actions of Mr. Robert Telus, the new minister (of agriculture - ed.), in the first hours with the support of both the prime minister and the president, which was also the result of negotiations with President Zelensky, showed that we are able to communicate with Ukraine and suspend imports at least until July," he said.

Kowalski believes that the first step in resolving the situation should be a Polish-Ukrainian grain agreement. He also proposes introducing tariffs on all agricultural products from Ukraine.

"We help Ukraine, but we must be a transit country. All products must be sent through Poland, they must not harm Polish farmers, Polish producers and cause a crisis related to food security," he said.

We will remind you that Hungary is strengthening the control over transit transportation through its territory of Ukrainian grain so that it actually reaches the countries of destination.
