Brazilian President da Silva will visit China: He will discuss war in Ukraine with Xi Jinping

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will meet with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping this week to discuss trade between the two countries, as well as Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira told reporters that the two leaders "will talk about the war in Ukraine."
The Brazilian president is expected to arrive in China on Tuesday, April 11. He will meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Friday, April 14.
During the meeting, Lula hopes to push forward his proposal for mediation talks to end the Russia-initiated war in Ukraine.
It will be recalled that previously Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva offered Ukraine to cede occupied Crimea to Russia in order to end the war.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stressed that any mediation efforts to restore peace in Ukraine should be based on respect for sovereignty and full restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
