Ukraine terminated agreement with Russia on procedure for crossing border
The Verkhovna Rada terminated the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for crossing the Ukrainian-Russian state border by residents of the border regions of the two states.
This was announced on Telegram by the permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, Censor.NET reports.
"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted as a whole the Government Draft Law on Termination of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Procedure for Crossing the Ukrainian-Russian State Border by Residents of the Border Regions of Ukraine and the Russian Federation (Reg. No. 0181 dated 05.12.2022)", - he wrote.
As noted, the termination of the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for crossing the Ukrainian-Russian state border by residents of the border regions of Ukraine and the Russian Federation will contribute to the strengthening of state control of the entry and stay of citizens of the Russian Federation in Ukraine in conditions of threats to the national security of Ukraine.
"FOR" was chaired by 283 People's Deputies of Ukraine.
In addition, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted Law No. №0185"On Withdrawal from the Agreement on Conducting an Agreed Policy in Determining Transport Tariffs" by 288 votes.
The withdrawal from the Agreement is due to the fact that the application of the provisions of the Agreement by Ukraine is extremely complicated due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, the conduct of hostilities by the aggressor state, the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and the destruction of the transport infrastructure of Ukraine by the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
