Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov states that a breakthrough on the battlefield should be achieved in 2023, and for this Ukraine needs quick support in a sufficient amount.

Reznikov announced this on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"During his busy visit to Bucharest, he took part in the work of the Black Sea Security Conference of the International Crimean Platform.

This site has become an important element of consolidating efforts to support Ukraine.

I took the opportunity to personally thank the Romanian partners who, since the first days of the full-scale invasion, have provided comprehensive support to Ukraine as good neighbors and true friends.

On the sidelines of this event, he met with a great friend of Ukraine - Deputy Secretary General of NATO Mircea Joane, who at one time did brilliant work to ensure Romania's entry into the Alliance. Current projects were discussed, in particular, NSPA's systematic participation in the modernization of defense procurement in Ukraine. We are preparing a number of very specific initiatives for the Vilnius NATO Summit.

In my speech at the Conference, I emphasized 5 framework theses, which, in my opinion, should be the basis of a set of solutions to ensure peace, security, well-being and development in the region.

1. I continue to support the opinion that the free world should change the paradigm of its actions in the context of repelling aggression. Slow actions after the fact do not work. "Do not provoke" does not work. Russians do not need provocations to start a war. It has been proven many times. The free world must have strategic initiative and be ready to act quickly and preemptively. This is an important change in consciousness, not everyone is psychologically ready. Without this readiness, political will and correct decisions will not appear. But this approach will be the best sobering factor for any aggressor.

2. A system of safeguards is needed, which will minimize the desire to solve something by force. In the context of the Black Sea region, everything is obvious - there is no alternative to NATO. There is no alternative to Ukraine in NATO. We proved our ability to strengthen the Alliance and took formal steps - submitted an application for admission. Lack of movement will only continue the uncertainty and risks.

3. Any models or conversations about security in the region that do not include the liberation of Crimea from Russian occupation are illusions. We must say goodbye to these illusions. Do not deceive yourself that there are other options. They do not exist. Therefore, in the context of Crimea, there should be only one angle - how to release? This is a common interest. Joint efforts should be focused on this.

4. The issue of Russia's transformation should appear on the agenda. The thesis of some partners that Moscow should be involved in all important affairs of the region is shattered by reality - with the current terrorist regime, which feeds on imperial phantom pains, any agreements are impossible in principle.

Russia should become a democratic federation. Go through denazification, extradite criminals, compensate for the damage. Otherwise there will be no trust. There must be a common position, including one fixed through a system of powerful sanctions, that without transformation into a true democratic federation, Russia will not be able to restore relations with the civilized world.

5. And finally. Time. The right medicine, applied at the wrong time, too late, may not work. Prolonging or "freezing" the war is against the interests of the region. The region will lose momentum while others develop. Therefore, the common interest is to achieve a breakthrough on the battlefield in 2023. For this, Ukraine needs fast and sufficient support.

There are a number of very specific steps in the development of these positions that we are currently discussing with our partners, are preparing for implementation or are already implementing.

The Black and Azov seas will be a space of peace, Crimea will return home.

We are doing everything possible to bring this moment closer," Reznikov said.
