17 thousand prisoners "disappeared" from colonies of Russia, - Russian media. INFOGRAPHICS

At the beginning of 2023, prisons in 35 regions of Russia did not count 17 thousand prisoners.
This is reported by the Russian mass media, Censor.NET informs.
"Neither the FSVP, nor Prigozhin, nor the Ministry of Defense published official data on the number of prisoners recruited for the war. The scale of recruitment could be estimated from prison population statistics, but the FSIN stopped publishing it for a certain time, and in January completely reported that it is no longer reduced," the message reads
The largest number of prisoners disappeared in the Samara region: at the beginning of 2022, 10,200 people were held in colonies in this region, and at the beginning of 2023 - only 7,500. Such a decline cannot be explained by a historical trend, because in the previous year 2021, the number of prisoners in the region, on the contrary, increased by more than 300 people.
More than a thousand people "disappeared" also in Chelyabinsk (1,574) and Kirov (1,153) regions, as well as in Tatarstan (1,040).
Prisoners in several regions provided their data on recruitment in colonies - yes, in the Tula region they confirm the FSIN statistics on the prison population, while the agency's data in the Krasnoyarsk region and the Yaroslavl region turned out to be lower.
In total, by the beginning of 2023, there were 17,000 fewer prisoners in these 35 regions (this is more than half of the reduction for the year as a whole across the country).
