With the improvement of weather conditions in Ukraine, Russian forces may go on the offensive in several areas of the war.

This was stated by John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator of the US National Security Council, in an interview with Voice of America, reports Censor.NЕТ.

According to him, the United States is stepping up security assistance to Ukraine so that the Armed Forces have every opportunity to launch their own counteroffensive.

"We know that in the spring, when the weather improves, and it's already starting to improve, we can expect the Russians to want to go on the offensive in some areas, and we don't know exactly where and how they're going to do it, but we want to make sure that the Ukrainians are better able to defend themselves against that. If they decide to launch their own offensive operations, they would have the capabilities to do so. We are developing the capabilities that we provide to Ukraine," Kirby said.

Kirby listed the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces today, including armored vehicles, artillery, air defense, and logistics.

"This is really the lifeblood of any army in the field. How to keep it in battle. How to maintain it, how to get spare parts, food, water and fuel, things necessary for continuous operation. So this should be among the priorities as well," the White House official said.
