This was stated by the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, Censor.NET reports with reference to the media platform of the Defence Forces Military Media Center.

As noted, Syrsky worked in several areas in the combat zone yesterday. The commander presented awards and valuable gifts to the defenders of Bakhmut who distinguished themselves in combat.

Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky commented on the situation at the front as follows: "In the Lyman direction, our defenders have repelled numerous attacks over the past few days. The enemy's attempts to capture our positions failed. The enemy suffered losses, we captured 10 enemy soldiers."

According to Syrsky, intense fighting continues in the Bakhmut direction. The enemy conducted numerous attacks, trying to break through the defense of our positions in several directions. However, thanks to the resilience and courage of the defenders of the Fortress, the enemy's actions failed.

"The enemy is making every effort to advance and is not counting on anything. Despite significant losses, new assault groups of Wagner, fighters from other private companies, and paratroopers are constantly rushing into the battle. However, the enemy fails to take control of the city. The situation is quite complicated. At the same time, in some parts of the city, the enemy counterattacked our units and abandoned some positions."
