"Attention! Residents of Kharkiv and the region, the occupiers are striking again!" he wrote.
The head of the region urged not to ignore the alerts and stay in shelters.
According to local public media, at least four explosions have already occurred in the city.
Later, Syniehubov wrote: "According to preliminary information, the occupiers fired at the city and the region with S-300 missiles. At least six 'arrivals' were recorded. There are hits in Kharkiv region.
Emergency services are working on the site. Information about the victims and the extent of the damage is being clarified."
