Ukraine has means necessary to liberate occupied territories - Stoltenberg
North Atlantic Treaty Organization Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that Ukraine has the means necessary to de-occupy the territories seized by Russia.
Stoltenberg made the statement on Thursday at a press conference with Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa in Lisbon, reports Censor.NЕТ with reference to "European truth".
"Since the beginning of Russia's illegal war against Ukraine, NATO Allies have provided an unprecedented level of support. And I am confident that Ukrainian troops have all the means necessary to retake the occupied lands," the NATO Secretary General emphasized.
Stoltenberg noted that at different stages of Russia's full-scale invasion, support for Ukraine varied from light anti-tank weapons to modern air defense systems, armored vehicles and heavy battle tanks.
"And I welcome the recent announcements by Allies to provide cruise missiles and to train Ukrainian pilots to use Western fighter jets," he said, adding that it is necessary to continue supporting Kyiv both now and in the long term.
The NATO Secretary General also reminded of the summit in Vilnius, where he expects a new strategic multi-year assistance program for Kyiv to be adopted.
