About thousand bodies of soldiers remain unidentified - Ruban
The total number of persons that have gone missing in the zone of the antiterrorist operation is 1,200 - 1,300.
Volunteer and director of the Center for the exchange of prisoners, head of the "Officers' Corps", Colonel-General Volodymyr Ruban reported at a press conference in Kyiv, Censor.NET informs citing UNIAN.
"About a thousand of our soldiers without their names and surnames inscripted on the graves are buried in the cemeteries of four cities including the one in Dnipropetrovsk - there are about 500 graves," he said.
"Those are killed servicemen, who cannot be identified. They were taken the tissue samples from to determine their DNA, and then a lot of time is needed to perform DNA testing, to compare it with the DNA of relatives," Ruban said.
"According to the SBU and the UN, the total number of persons that have gone missing in the zone of the antiterrorist operation is 1,200 - 1,300," the volunteer said.
