US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland reported that Ukraine’s counteroffensive was being prepared for about 5 months.
She said this during the 15th annual Kyiv Security Forum, founded by Arseniy Yatsenyuk's "Open Ukraine" Foundation, the Forum's website reports, Censor.NET reports.
"Ukraine will both win and be prosperous. This is what we are currently working on in Washington. While you are planning a counteroffensive, on which we have been working together for 4-5 months, we are starting to discuss with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, with our friends in Kyiv, with civilians and military, the future of Ukraine," she said.
The Deputy Secretary of State added that the United States is currently helping Ukraine to build security and military power in such a way that they would be a sufficient deterrent for Russia so that it could no longer start a new war in the future.
In addition, according to her, Ukraine has everything to move towards EU membership.
"When talking about the Ukrainian economy, we are talking not only about survival, but also about prosperity," Victoria Nuland stressed.
Ukraine, she noted, is capable of creating jobs in the IT sphere and in the sphere of production, as well as providing work for immigrants and Ukrainian defenders who will return from the front after the end of the war.
As a reminder, on May 25-26, the 15th annual Kyiv security forum "For Our and Your Freedom / Fighting for NATO" will be held with the participation of well-known international figures. At the Forum, in particular, the KSF Security Council will be formed and a position document with recommendations for the NATO summit in Vilnius, which will be held in July, will be adopted.
