Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated at a parliamentary meeting that the need to extend the state of emergency is due to the persistence of risks and threats to Moldova's national security and energy supply.
"The request to extend the state of emergency is motivated. We have to do it again. The war continues to rage near our border," Recean said.
The state of emergency in Moldova has been in effect since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Since then, it has been constantly extended.
