Moldova extends emergency state due to war in Ukraine

молдова

At a meeting on May 26, Moldovan parliament approved government’s proposal to extend state of emergency imposed last year in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine for two months.

It is informed by Censor.NЕТ referring to European Truth.

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated at a parliamentary meeting that the need to extend the state of emergency is due to the persistence of risks and threats to Moldova's national security and energy supply.

"The request to extend the state of emergency is motivated. We have to do it again. The war continues to rage near our border," Recean said.

The state of emergency in Moldova has been in effect since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Since then, it has been constantly extended.
