SSU created a unit for sabotage and counter-sabotage activities at beginning of full-scale war - Malyuk
In early days of full-scale war, Security Service of Ukraine created a special unit that carried out sabotage and counter-sabotage activities on border of Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions.
This was stated by the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk in an interview with Dmytro Komarov's special project "Year. Behind the Scenes", informs Censor.NЕТ referring to Ukrinform.
"At that time, an important task was to cut off the enemy's logistics, and so we created a unit. For obvious reasons, I will not mention its name and number today. But today I will allow myself to thank its leader, Mr. Okhotnik, for his service, and I will allow myself to name his call sign. And all the personnel of this unit. On the border of Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions, they carried out appropriate measures - sabotage and counter-sabotage. Partisan and agent forces were added to this unit," Malyuk said.
According to him, many such events were held behind enemy lines in the forests. He noted that at that time, they managed to destroy the enemy's rear control center.
Malyuk added that later such events were held in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. "And in this regard, I was on a lot of business trips," the SSU Head added.
