The Russian occupiers have completed preparations for a terrorist attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

According to Censor.NET, this was stated by the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov in an interview with the British publishing house The New Statement.

Budanov noted that nuclear reactors without cooling can melt down in a period of 10 to 14 days. In addition, an accident at ZNPP could also be caused by the Russians increasing the voltage on the power supply lines to the plant.

"The plan for a terrorist attack on ZNPP is fully developed and approved. They can use technical means to accelerate the disaster," Budanov said.

He reminded about the mining of the ZNPP cooling pond by Russian troops and also informed about the placement of explosives near 4 of the 6 power units of the plant.

"The situation has never been as serious as it is now," Budanov emphasized.

According to him, the order of the aggressor state to commit a terrorist attack on ZNPP may be caused by the defeat of the Russian occupation forces on the left bank of the Dnipro River - Russia sees the creation of a nuclear disaster zone as a way to prevent further advance of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

At the same time, according to Budanov, there is a risk that Russia could attack the ZNPP with a radiation leak as a "preventive measure" to stop Ukraine's offensive and freeze the front line in its current form.
