The final communiqué adopted during the NATO summit in Vilnius states that Russia must immediately and unconditionally withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"Russia must immediately end this illegal war of aggression, cease the use of force against Ukraine and withdraw all its forces and equipment from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders extending to its territorial waters," reads the final communiqué adopted on Tuesday in Vilnius during the NATO summit.

In addition, NATO leaders called on all countries "not to provide any assistance to Russian aggression" and condemned "all those who actively contribute to Russia's war". "Supporting Belarus has been important as it continues to provide its territory and infrastructure to allow Russian forces to attack Ukraine and support Russian aggression. In particular, Belarus, as well as Iran, must end their complicity with Russia and return to respecting international law," the communiqué said.

Allies also welcomed the UN General Assembly's strong support for efforts to establish a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine. "We welcome and support President Zelensky's commitment to establishing the principles of such a peace in his Peace Formula. We are committed to achieving a just and lasting peace that upholds the principles of the UN Charter, including sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence. We emphasise that this cannot be achieved without Russia's full and unconditional withdrawal. While we have called on Russia to engage constructively in credible negotiations with Ukraine, Russia has not demonstrated genuine openness to a just and lasting peace," the document says.
