Number of refugees from Ukraine has increased sharply in Norway

Over the past week, Norway has registered 1,084 applications for asylum from Ukrainian citizens, which, together with other arrivals, corresponds to the level of the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
As reported by Censor.NET with reference to European Pravda, this was reported in the Norwegian Immigration Directorate (UDI).
According to UDI Director Frode Forfang, in recent days Norway has seen more arrivals from Ukraine than before - an average of more than 150 people per day.
Overall, including asylum seekers from other countries, the average number of arrivals for the past week is 174 people per day, the highest average since April 23, 2022.
Against this background, the occupancy of immigration centers has already exceeded the expected figure of 10,000 and is more than 12,000.
"In connection with this, we have introduced some additional measures. Time will tell whether this is a temporary trend or whether it will remain stable at such a high level," said Fofanga.
As of August 31, 56,707 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Norway, more than 20,000 of them this year. In addition, a number of Ukrainians who have not yet been registered as refugees have also arrived in the country in recent days.
