President of Finland Niiniste: "Risk of using nuclear weapons is huge"
Finnish President Saule Niiniste considers the risk of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine to be huge.
He said this in an interview with The New York Times, Censor.NET reports.
"We are in a very sensitive situation. Even small things can change the situation very much, and, unfortunately, for the worse. This is the risk of such a large-scale war. The risk of using nuclear weapons is huge," Niiniste believes.
He also defended the cautious policy of countries such as the USA and Germany regarding the provision of one or another weapon to Ukraine, in particular for attacks on the Russian-occupied Crimea.
"There is a difference between those who are responsible and those who are not... And I would just like to point out: if there is an escalation to a major war, it will be a world war, and then the nuclear risk becomes clearly greater," Niiniste said.
