Zelensky signed law on criminal liability for rules infraction for operation of combat or special vehicles

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Law No. 9325 on criminal liability for military offenses related to the rules infraction for the operation of combat or special vehicles, flights or training for them and navigation.
This is stated on the parliament's website, Censor.NET informs.
As stated in the law card, the law specifies the provisions of Article 58 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the obligation of the court to determine the amount of monetary deduction to the state budget from the amount of money allowance of the convicted person in case of imposition of punishment in the form of service restriction of a serviceman.
The document provides for criminal liability for violation of flight rules or preparation for them, provided for in Article 416 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (service restriction for a term of up to two years - deprivation of liberty for up to fifteen years) and for violation of the rules of navigation, provided for in Art. 417 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (service restriction for a term of up to one year - deprivation of liberty for up to fifteen years) depending on the socially dangerous consequences resulting from the commission of relevant criminal offenses.
The law also provides for the procedure and terms of execution of punishment in the form of service restrictions for military personnel (amendments to Article 47 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In particular, it is stipulated that the term of serving a punishment in the form of service restriction for a serviceman is calculated in years, months and days, during which the convicted serviceman was in military service and a deduction was made from his financial support.
The beginning of the term of serving the punishment is considered to be the day from which the deduction from the military serviceman's financial support actually began.
It is expected that the law will provide the necessary flexibility and discretion in making decisions regarding the prosecution of flights or preparations for them, ship navigation, committed in wartime conditions, which, as a final result, will allow the preservation of highly qualified personnel with exceptional knowledge and skills in the Armed Forces on the management of combat vehicles.
