PGO cracks down on high-rank educational officials, - Shokin

The Prosecutor General's Office is carrying out a special operation to detain high-rank officials of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment who abused their positions and committed a number of offences.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukrainski Novyny, this was announced by the Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin at a briefing.

"I tell you, at the moment we are sitting here, a special PGO, SBU and Interior Ministry anti-corruption operation is taking place to detain higher officials of the Ministry of Education with other investigative steps being under way," Shokin said.

He said it was about the management of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment.

"There is such an institution - the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment. Now we have all reasons to believe that the center's management abused their official positions and committed a number of serious offences. I am sure today they will be detained and subsequently the court will decide on their arrest," the Prosecutor General said.
