Trilateral Contact Group to sign withdrawal agreement in coming days, - OSCE
The Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine intends to sign the agreed withdrawal of weaponry of up to 100-mm caliber in the coming days.
This was announced by the Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) Alexander Hug, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, the working sub-group agreed on withdrawal of weaponry of up to 100-mm caliber and communicated this agreement to the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine. The group participants said they hadn't signed the agreement, but would do it one of these days.
Speaking on feasibility of signing the agreement given the fact the heavier weapons haven't been withdrawn, Hug said tanks and arms of respective calibers were not included in the Minsk Agreements. He also added that arms of up to 100-mm had a limited range with 82-mm mortars covering just 6-7 km distance, and withdrawal of this kind of weaponry would favor the situation.
