"Army of Russian Federation is arming itself": National Assembly of France calls for speeding up and increasing supply of weapons to Ukraine
Deputy of the National Assembly of France, member of the defense committee Nathalie Puzyreff (République En Marche!), answering the question about the necessary response of the Western countries to the record 33% of the military expenditures laid down in the Russian budget, said that a constructive response from the EU should be a long-term response planning, significant increase in production capacity in the field of the military industry and increase in the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
The French politician made a corresponding statement in a Guildhall comment, Censor.NET reports.
"First, we must take into account that military support to Ukraine must be long-term. That is, EU member states must plan to provide assistance to Ukraine in the long run, accordingly, this means that we must produce more equipment and weapons, do it faster and continue to supply more ammunition and weapons to Ukraine," the politician said.
"As we know that on the other side, the Russian army is getting more and more equipment, probably its production capacity is increasing, and as you mentioned, they are putting a big budget effort into their defense sector (the annual budget of the Russian Federation foresees a record 33% of spending on defense - ed.) So, first of all, we should take into account that this is a long-term task and we need to expand our production capabilities, then we should provide a detailed report on the repair of all weapons used in Ukraine, because it concerns operational readiness, and this is very important during a protracted conflict," Nathalie Puzyreff concluded.
