During November 17, Russians unsuccessfully attacked in six directions, - General Staff
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released operational information on the Russian invasion as of 18:00 on November 17, 2023.
As Censor.NET informs, this was reported on the official Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The message reads: "Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and thirty-first day of large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our state continues.
There were 53 combat engagements over the day. In total, the enemy launched 1 missile and 24 air strikes, carried out 18 multiple-launch rocket systems attacks at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Also, the russian federation launched another air strike on Ukraine, using Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. As a result of combat work, air defense forces and means destroyed 9 attack UAVs.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remained unchanged. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. About 30 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling of the enemy, among them Senkivka, Kliusy, Karpovychi, Leonivka of the Chernihiv region; Zarichchia, Brusky, Volfyne, Myropillia, Stepok, Popivka of the Sumy region; Veterinarne, Budarky of the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully carried out assault operations in the areas of Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Ivanivka of the Kharkiv region. It carried out an air strike in the area of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations. More than 10 settlements suffered from artillery and mortar shelling by the occupiers, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy carried out assault operations in the areas of Vasiukivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka of the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled 9 attacks. More than 10 settlements, including Markove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and New York of the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Keramik, east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and south of Tonenke of the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled 17 attacks. Artillery and mortar shelling of the enemy were hit by more than 15 settlements, among them Oleksandropil, Ocheretyne, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Netailove of the Donetsk region.
In the Marinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled more than 18 enemy attacks. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Pobieda and Novomykhailivka settlements of the Donetsk region. Under the artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers were such settlements of Donetsk region as Krasnohorivka, Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Antonivka, Veselyi Hai.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults south of Vodiane of the Donetsk region. In addition, the enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of the settlements of Vodiane, Urozhaine of the Donetsk region. Artillery and mortar shelling were hit by about 10 settlements, in particular, Vodiane, Vuhledar, Novoukraiinka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine, Novopil of the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Robotyne and west of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region, where our defenders repelled 3 attacks. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Novodanylivka of the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 15 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar shelling, including Levadne, Poltavka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, and Piatykhatky of the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy launched an airstrike in the area of the Tyahynka settlement of the Kherson region. Such settlements as Tokarivka, Sadove, Chornobaivka, Bilozerka, Veletenske of the Kherson region, the city of Kherson and Solonchaky of the Mykolaiv region were hit by enemy artillery fire.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction and offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
On the left bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson direction, thanks to the courage and professionalism of the Ukrainian marines, in cooperation with other units of the Armed Forces, they managed to gain a foothold on several bridgeheads. The defense forces continue to hold the occupied borders, repelled 6 attacks of the enemy, take measures to expand the occupied bridgehead.
During the day, the aircraft of the Defense Forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and 2 - on the anti-aircraft missile complexes of the enemy.
The missile troops struck 3 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 6 artillery pieces, 1 air defence piece, 1 command post and 1 ammunition depot.
