The former Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Volodymyr Sivkovych, was informed of the suspicion of treason committed by a group of individuals based on a prior conspiracy.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press service of the SSU.

"Exposadovets is involved in the organization of large-scale information campaigns aimed at artificially discrediting the top military and political leadership of Ukraine in favor of the Kremlin. For this, he enlisted the cooperation of well-known politicians in Kyiv, among them Nestor Shufrych, who is suspected of high treason.

It was he who was one of the main "speakers" who, under the coordination of Sivkovych, publicized the Kremlin's narratives during appearances on television and on the pages of online publications," the report says.

Thus, it was established that Sivkovich's henchmen "dispersed" fake news about the internal situation in Ukraine, as well as Moscow's "theses" regarding the "no alternative" of the pro-Russian vector in foreign policy.

"In this way, the Kremlin tried to destabilize the situation inside Ukraine as much as possible before the start of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and to discredit the official Kyiv in front of its Western partners. To avoid justice in 2014 for attempts to disperse the Maidan by force, Sivkovich went to Moscow, where he began to organize massive information diversions against the state security of Ukraine.

This is one of the priority tasks that Sivkovych performed on the instructions of the staff members of the 9th Directorate of the Department of Operational Information of the 5th Service of the FSS," the SSU said.

Sivkovych was informed of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 1 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed by a group of persons following a prior conspiracy).

Previously, his actions were qualified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

Part 1 of Art. 255 (creation, management of a criminal community or criminal organization, as well as participation in it);
Part 1 of Art. 111 (treason).

Since Sivkovych is hiding in the territory of Russia, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice. The perpetrator faces life imprisonment.
