Russia wants to grant the Sea of Azov the status of the "internal sea of Russia". In this way, the invaders hope to neutralize the influence of international law on this territory.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Yurii Malashko during a briefing at the Regional Military Administration Media Center, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.

"Russians are preparing a project to change the status of the Azov Sea. The occupiers plan to legislatively define the Sea of Azov as an inland sea of Russia. The change in the status of the reservoir, according to the occupiers' plan, should neutralize the effect of international law in this territory," Malashko said.

In addition, according to him, in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, the invaders continue to seize the homes and property of people who have left without authorization.

Malashko also added that more than 600 residents of the region, including children, are currently being held captive by the Russians.

"There is a tendency for our military to be convicted and sent even to Siberia. This is a violation of any international conventions," emphasized Malashko.
