Despite the widespread media coverage of the initiative to impose sanctions on the Russian showmen Maslyakov, no one addressed the NSDC apparatus with this issue.
This was reported on Facebook by the author and presenter of "Schemes" Natalia Sedletska, Censor.NET reports.
"We accidentally found out that Ukraine has not yet imposed sanctions on the Maslyakovs, Russian showmen who publicly support Putin and tour with CCC to Crimea and Russia's destroyed Mariupol. And this is strange because the Cabinet of Ministers twice initiated this issue before the National Security and Defence Council in 2022," the journalist notes.
She reminds us that this government initiative was widely covered in the media, and the relevant orders to appeal to the NSDC were published on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers and can be easily googled.
"Therefore, the journalist of Skhemy asked the NSDC about the fate of two appeals from the Cabinet of Ministers with a proposal to authorize Oleksandr Maslyakov Sr. and Jr. And the NSDC apparatus responded to Skhemy's request with a reply, which showed that... no one, including the Cabinet of Ministers, had approached them with such an initiative. They wrote that: "If such proposals are received, they will be submitted to the NSDC for consideration by the established procedure." What's broken where?" Sedletska asks.
She also noted that in Ukraine, the Maslyakovs have several companies that are not closed, and among their co-owners is a Ukrainian partner, TV producer Naum Barulia, a long-time associate of Zelenskyy, who together created the show "League of Laughter" and several comedy series.
"Naum Barulya was unable to explain to journalists why he had not yet withdrawn from the ownership structure of the Maslyakovs' companies in Ukraine. "The 'schemes' also found out that he was a citizen of the Russian Federation," Sedletska summarises.
