China avoids condemning Russia’s massive missile strikes on Ukraine and calls on parties to exercise restraint

China avoids condemning Russia’s massive missile strikes on Ukraine and hopes to resolve the "crisis" through negotiations.
This is stated in a response from the office of the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Censor.NET reports with reference to Ukrinform.
"China's position on the 'Ukrainian crisis' is consistent and clear. We continue to call on the relevant parties to exercise maximum restraint, avoid attacks on civilian objects and protect the safety of civilians," the ministry said.
The Chinese side continues to insist that dialogue and negotiations are the only way to resolve the "Ukrainian crisis," as Beijing continues to call Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, avoiding identifying the aggressor and the victim of the attack.
"We hope that all parties will commit themselves to a political settlement of the crisis, an early end to the war, and joint efforts to alleviate the situation," the response reads.
At the same time, China, despite numerous evidences of the destruction of residential buildings as a result of Russian missile strikes, continues to remain silent about the aggressor's violations of international humanitarian law and refrains from expressing condolences to the affected civilians in Ukrainian cities.
