On January 4, a cruise missile strike on the occupied Crimea destroyed the command post of the 3rd Radio Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces near the city of Saki and the position of the 222nd communication center of the RF Aerospace Forces in Yevpatoria.

This was reported by Censor.NET Editor-in-Chief Yurii Butusov.

"Important success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Russian sources reported the elimination of Colonel Vadim Ismagilov, commander of the 3rd Radio Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces, on January 4.

On January 4, the Ukrainian Air Force Command reported the successful destruction of the Russian Armed Forces command post at the airfield near the city of Saki in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The strike was carried out by Ukrainian aviation using Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

The 3rd Radio Regiment of the 31st Air Defense Division of the Russian Federation is armed with long-range radars for early detection and surveillance of air targets, including cruise missile launches. That is, it is a key part of the structure of the Crimean air defense system. The command post at the Saki base was a buried and protected structure.

The elimination of Ismagilov means the destruction of the Russian air defense command post, and shows that despite the concentration of all the latest means, radars, anti-aircraft missile systems, Russian air defense is not able to protect even itself from Ukrainian aircraft strikes with cruise missiles," Butusov wrote on Facebook.

Simultaneously with the strike on the Saki airfield, Ukrainian aviation also destroyed the positions of the 222nd communication center of the Russian Aerospace Forces' radio technical troops in Yevpatoria, which is armed with Oborona-14 radars.

The Ukrainian command planned to disable the air defense control and surveillance system on the western coast of Crimea, from where the enemy covers the western part of the Black Sea and the occupied part of the Kherson region, the journalist notes. The operation on January 4 was successful.

In addition, according to Butusov, satellite images do not confirm the reports of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine that on January 4, Russian Armed Forces warehouses near the village of Hryshyne in Crimea were also destroyed. "Several missiles definitely hit these hangars, but there are no traces of detonation," he said.

According to the Editor-in-Chief of Censor.NET, the January 4 operation showed that a significant number of launches of Storm Shadow cruise missiles can destroy any strategic objects in the occupied territories. Ukraine needs more supplies of these precision weapons from NATO countries.
