Men of mobilization age should be in Ukraine - Zelenskyy. VIDEO
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that men of mobilisation age should stay in Ukraine and work for the state.
The head of state said this during a press conference with Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Censor.NET reports.
"There are people who crossed the border outside the rules or outside the law. And this is a question to these people, men. If they are of mobilisation age, then they should help Ukraine and should be in Ukraine. I am not saying that someone should be at the front and someone should not be at the front. There is a law. But there is an ordinary human rule. There is one soldier paid for by the state of Ukraine. No one helps us with this. One soldier costs 6-8 taxpayers.
And if you are in Ukraine and you are not at the front, but you are working. Wherever you work, we respect every person. If you work and pay taxes, you are also defending the country. This is very important," he said, answering the question whether Estonia should send men of military age to Ukraine.
"But if you are abroad and you are of mobilisation age, and you are not at the front and do not pay taxes, you have travelled illegally, then there are questions. If we want to save the country, save Europe, then we all have to understand: either we are helping Ukraine or we are not. Either we are citizens who are at the front, or we are citizens who work and pay taxes. Otherwise, there will be no money for the military. And if there is no money for the military, there will be no military. There will be no one to defend the country," the president concluded.
