This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock at a joint press conference with her French counterpart Stephane Sejourne in Berlin on Sunday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"Putin does not abandon his war against people in Ukraine, he does not want to abandon it. It is all the more important that we continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine this year and for as long as it takes until Russia backs down," Baerbock said.
She added that Germany and France have been united and united in their support for Ukraine "as a couple" from the very beginning.
Burbock noted that Séjourne's visit to Kyiv during Russia's missile terror was "an important sign of solidarity". Ukrainians have been experiencing the most powerful air attacks in 2 years in recent weeks, with Russia launching unprecedented strikes on civilian targets, she stressed.
"Quite deliberately, on quite normal life, on quite normal people," the diplomat stressed.
Burbock also said that when Europe is united and speaks with one voice, this voice is heard around the world. This is very important in such turbulent times as these. The German minister particularly noted the role of the Weimar Triangle (Germany-France-Poland).
The French Foreign Minister agreed that the two largest European countries should "help Ukraine as much as necessary".
He also agreed that the two countries should speak with one voice, in particular on the issue of the Middle East conflict.
