Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) yesterday gained access to the reactor hall of Unit 6 at Zaporizhzhia NPP.

This was stated by the IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, Censor.NET reports with reference to the IAEA's official website.

Last Friday, 12 January, the occupiers did not allow the experts to inspect the reactor hall of Unit 6, offering the team to enter the area in about a week. However, according to Grossi, access was granted on 16 January.

"While in the reactor hall, the team observed the main components of the reactor and confirmed the reactor's cold shutdown status," the director wrote.

The team also visited the turbine room of Unit 6, but was once again denied access to some parts of the room.

As noted, the IAEA ISAMZ teams have not been able to access all parts of the engine room of each unit since 18 October last year.

Earlier it was reported that the Russians have not yet granted the IAEA experts present at Zaporizhzhia NPP access to the reactor halls of power units 1 and 2.
