Kyiv Municipal Council allocates UAH 500 million for purchase of drones for military – Klytschko

At today’s meeting, the Kyiv Municipal Council will vote to transfer UAH 500 million to the military for the purchase of drones.
This was announced at the beginning of the Kyiv Municipal Council meeting by Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klytschko, Censor.NET reports.
"Today we have to make a decision and amend the Kyiv Defender program to allocate UAH 500 million for the purchase of drones. We will transfer them to military units," said Vitalii Klytschko.
The mayor reminded that last year, almost UAH 7 billion was allocated to help the security and defense forces under various programs and sources of the capital budget.
"That is 10 percent of the budget, the largest amount among all Ukrainian cities. Not 1 percent, as some people lie and manipulate! Of these 7 billion, almost 1 billion was spent on the purchase of various types of drones for the military. The city has also allocated funds and purchased electronic warfare equipment, which is now effectively protecting Kyiv," Klytschko noted.
He also emphasized that the capital paid financial assistance to Kyiv defenders and their families. It allocated funds for the purchase of apartments for defenders and their families. And this year, it will continue to do so, despite the fact that Kyiv has been deprived of the "military" personal income tax.
"In such circumstances, when adopting the capital's budget for this year, we have preliminarily allocated UAH 1.2 billion to help the Armed Forces. But we will continue, as we did last year, to look for opportunities to add more funds. We will also allocate them from other items to help our defenders as much as possible. Therefore, we will actually allocate many times more funds to help the military," Klytschko emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that for the funds allocated by the city in 2023, the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Kyiv purchased 1500 FPV attack drones and 200 Mavic quadcopters.
