Umierov proposes to hold joint forum of defence industries of Ukraine and Baltic States
During a meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis during his visit to Kyiv, Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umierov proposed holding a joint forum of the defence industries of Ukraine and the Baltic states.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence, Censor.NET reports.
During the meeting, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the government and people of Lithuania for their unwavering support of Ukraine, in particular for their leadership in the mine action coalition.
Umierov informed the Minister of the current situation at the frontline and proposed to hold a joint forum of the defence industries of Ukraine and the Baltic States.
"Representatives of governments, the defence industry and investors will be invited to participate in the forum, and we need to convince them that these are good investments that will have a high level of capitalisation," the minister said.
For his part, Landsbergis said that Lithuania is interested in learning from Ukraine's military experience in repelling Russian aggression, as well as in deepening cooperation in the field of advanced military technologies.
"We really appreciate the fact that in a state of war you find opportunities to share your experience with us and offer your assistance to Lithuania. We will continue to train your soldiers, but we, in turn, need to train our generals," Landsbergis said.
