Active defense being created in ATO area, NSDC Secretary says
National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov examined new weapons and military equipment which was redeployed to the anti-terrorist operation zone during his today’s working visit to the ATO area.
"We are creating active defense in the ATO area by strengthening our armed forces with new weapons and military equipment," he said, stressing that "we hold on tight to the Minsk Agreement" during military buildup process, Censor.NET reports citing the National Security and Defense Council press service.
NSDC Secretary stressed that the new pieces of artillery and the ones that have already been deployed in the ATO area are located at the distance envisaged by the Minsk protocol. "At the same time, active defense provides rapid and efficient response to any provocation committed by the enemy," he explained.
