Supporting Ukraine is important for Germany’s security - Scholz
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz appealed to his people to support Ukraine and noted that it was important for the security of Germany itself.
Scholz said this during an address on the occasion of Easter, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.
"A world without freedom means oppression. There is no peace without justice. That is why we support Ukraine in its struggle for a just peace - as long as it takes," the chancellor said.
In his address to the Germans, he stressed that support for Ukraine is also important for Germany's security.
Scholz said that peace in Europe has been maintained for many decades by adhering to the principle that borders cannot be changed by force. But, as the Chancellor stressed, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has violated this principle.
