War of Independence is still on, - Poroshenko
August 24, these days, is a major holiday for Ukraine.
This was stated by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko today during the Independence March on Khreshchatyk, Censor.NET reports.
"The War of Independence is still on. The victory is only possible by uniting our defense efforts, diplomatic skills and political dialogue. Every mistake could be fatal," Poroshenko said.
He also noted that the Independence Day practically coincides with the anniversary of the Ilovaisk tragedy caused by Russia's invasion last year.
According to Poroshenko, as a result of the confrontation in the Donbas, about 2,100 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed. They were honored by a minute of silence.
