No civilian casualties in turmoil outside parliament, Interior Minister says
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov said that there were no civilian casualties during the riots near the building of the Verkhovna Rada.
He said during a meeting of heads of the security agencies with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the president.
"We have no victims among civilians. It is the main difference from the events on Maidan," Arsen Avakov noted
The Interior Minister stressed that there were no provocative actions from the side of law enforcers in the course of yesterday's events. At the same time, the wounds of law enforcers indicate the use of a large number of heavy and sharp objects by protesters.
Avakov reminded that 18 persons have been detained. "Their remand in custody is being considered. The determination of organizers is underway," he concluded," the minister said.
