Court extended custody of Russian commando Aleksandrov until Oct. 17

Pechersk district court of Kyiv extended custody of a serviceman of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Aleksandr Aleksandrov until Oct. 17.

This was announced by his lawyer Kostiantyn Kravchuk to Ukrainski Novyny, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, the court extended custody of my client until Oct. 17," he said.

The extension is caused by necessity of further pre-trial investigation.

The prosecution also asked the court to extend arrest of another defendant under this case - Russian military Yevgeny Yerofeyev - until Oct. 17.

At the same time, the suspect's lawyer Oksana Sokolovska said that this request is yet to be considered, as she challenged the judge of Pechersk district court Kateryna Tarasiuk.

As reported, May 22, Russian servicemen Yevgeny Yerofeyev and Aleksandr Aleksandrov were remanded in custody.

On May 16, Ukrainian forces detained them during a battle near the village of Shchastia (Luhansk region).

Prosecutor General's Office notified them of suspicion of terrorist activity, illegal border crossing, possession of weapons and fomenting of war.
