Svoboda member Syrotiuk arrested
The court has remanded Svoboda member Yurii Syrotiuk in 60-day custody.
This is reported by Censor.NET citing Svoboda's Twitter. "The judge, with the suspect and media out of room (all had been previously asked to leave the room so that it could be "aired"), decided on a 60-day custody and fled," the statement reads. As reported by Ukrainska Pravda, before arrested, Syrotiuk said he considered the trial to be a political reprisal. Svoboda MP Yurii Levchenko said he was ready to bail Syrotiuk, but the court did not satisfy the request.
Syrotiuk is suspected of involvement in rioting outside the Verkhovna Rada on Aug. 31. On Thursday, the court allowed bail for Svoboda MP Ihor Shvaika who, along with Syrotiuk and Eduard Leonov, is a suspect in this case.
